CHIP ‘N’ DALE – BY WALT DISNEY

Chip and Dale are two chipmunks created by the Walt Disney studios in the ‘50s. They used to mostly appear in Donald Duck cartoons where they would play pranks on him and constantly get in his way. In the ‘90s, they got their own show in which they are a part of the Rescue Rangers alongside Monty the rat, the mouse Gadget and Zipper the fly. Together they fight crime and solve various mysteries.

Chip and Dale by Walt Disney

Chip ‘n’ Dale full review

Creations of Walt Disney Productions, Chip and Dale came into existence in the early forties, 1943 to be precise. They got their now famous names from another famous person from the world of cabinet making – Thomas Chippendale with the suggestion of the names coming from Bill Henson.
The first TV appearance of the pair came in 1943 in Private Pluto, though a bit different from their subsequent looks and with no names as their names came in 1947, they did not fail to register themselves and their loving characters in the hearts of viewers. This created the foundation for them to become the most famous chipmunks in the world today.
These lovable creatures are funny with Chip portrayed as the logical schemer, while Dale is the goofy one and also dim-witted. They are almost always against the plots and exploits of Pluto and would almost never stop teasing and troubling the old Donald Duck in their initial introduction to the world of cartoon.
With their huge acceptance and popularity, it only made sense that they had their won cartoon series and this happened in the fifties when they had three series of cartoons.  Chicken in the Rough in 1951, Two Chips and a Miss in ‘52 and The Lone Chipmunks in 1954 were the three cartoon series of the chipmunks.
Not only do the characters have admirable and funny behaviors, their looks are also loved by many. While they initially had some resemblance in their appearance, the pair was later distinguished with some features in order for their fans to easily differentiate between them. One of the differences that can easily be spotted is Chip’s small black nose and two protruding center teeth. Dale on the other hand was given a big red nose while exposing his obvious buck teeth. Their furs were also used in differentiating them as while Chip had smooth and short fur on his head, Dale’s fur is a bit ruffled.
Besides their own cartoon series, they have made appearances in several other works and with other equally famous and great cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse.
They have always being friends and partners in crime with their first fight on TV coming in Two Chips and a Miss,a work that happens to be their second cartoon series. Clarice was the cause of the trouble with both chipmunks trying everything possible to get her attention.
These two very famous chipmunks continue to thrill lovers of animated series all over the world and one can only keep expecting more from them.
